Safety is always a priority at Elsinore Middle School. We want to thank the Lake Elsinore Police Department and the Riverside County Fire Department—along with all faculty, and staff—for their swift efforts after a small fire was contained and extinguished on campus Monday morning. Your actions are greatly appreciated!
Students also deserve special thanks for a safe and orderly evacuation until fire officials gave the “all clear” to return to class. This is an example of why fire safety drills are taken seriously to ensure a safe outcome, as was evident today.
Because the incident was limited to a detached area (gym building), cleanup and fire restoration efforts should not significantly affect our regular class and PE schedules until work is complete. An investigation into the cause and extent of the fire damage will continue.
We remind our parents/guardians that school attendance is extremely important, so students are not disadvantaged by missing important assignments and instruction. We look forward to seeing all our students in school tomorrow, and a normal week ahead.
